Hey there! My name is Joanna Burns.

I'm a singer-songwriter, music producer, and award-winning member of the BMI Lehman Engel Musical Theatre Workshop.

I'm gathering a small cohort of musical theatre writers for the launch of a brand new program called MT Demo Accelerator where we work to finally create professional demos that properly showcase your work.

If this sounds like something you've been looking for, there's a brief breakdown of the program below, along with a link to book a time to connect with me so we can chat and see if we're a good fit for one another.

MT Demo Accelerator

Imagine a Program That:

  • Trains members to produce killer, pro-sounding musical theatre demos from concept through mix and master, while working at your own pace

  • Demystifies Logic Pro and turns it into an indispensable tool in your creative arsenal

  • Provides a future-proof workflow you can rinse and repeat for every new project

  • Approaches audio production as a fun, exciting and hugely fulfilling step in the theatre making process

  • Brings in industry guests for masterclasses on pertinent topics like vocal arrangement, genre analysis, musical dramaturgy, and more

  • Provides an environment of support, cheerleading, and accountability where you receive constructive feedback as you realize your musical vision, while getting to meet passionate peers in the industry who are on the same path

Here's How It Works:

  • Phase 1 - Piano Vocal Pro - Build a pro-sounding killer piano/vocal demo so that you

can confidently start sharing your work with the world right away

  • Phase 2 - Drum and Bass Rhythmology - Add a thumping rhythm section from scratch,

using all virtual instruments so that your arrangements not only convey energy and size

in a recording, but will be just as impactful when performed live

  • Phase 3 - Ensemble Vocal Studio - Capture that big Broadway sound by crafting a vocal

ensemble right in the comfort of your home, incorporating layering and mixing

techniques to make your faux chorus feel just as exciting as a real one

  • Phase 4 - Informative Instruments - Round out your demos with 1 or 2 additional

instruments that further reinforce the unique time, place, and tone of your piece, so that your recordings can act as a shorthand for the world of your song or show
